Slopes in Sienna, Italy

Sienna is a medieval town in Italy built on 3 hills, and therefore houses were built on slopes too.

Are you able to tell how steep are these slopes? What would you use to describe?
Let's take a look at these pictures.
Do you find something similar in Singapore or elsewhere in the world where buildings sit on slopes like this?

This is the 'corner' of the city wall... Are you able to tell how steep it is?
We can either describe it with 'gradient' or an 'angle'.
Now, do you think there's any 'relationship' that we can establish between 'gradient' and 'angle'?
